Brooklyn Borough Hall is bordered by Cadman Plaza W. on the West, & Joralemon St. on the South.
We will not be covering the Dumbo area on this walk. Saving this for another Meetup at a later date.

REMEMBER TO CHECK SUBWAY WEEKEND CHANGES @ mta.info
PLAN
We'll walk through the heart of this beautiful rich historic district viewing sights listed below & more. Then we'll cover a little of the shopping area along Montague St. & head West to the famous Brooklyn Promenade with its magnificent views of Lower Manhattan. From here we will continue North & then turn East as we explore more historic & famous homes & buildings. We'll continue on to Front St. where we'll find the Eagle Warehouse & Storage (now a condominium) which was the former home of The Brooklyn Eagle newspaper. At this point we will be within viewing & sniffing (great aroma from their pizza varieties) distance of the famous Grimaldi's Pizza just across & up the street.

BACKGROUND
Brooklyn Heights began to develop once Robert Fulton's New York and Brooklyn Steam Ferry Boat Company began regularly scheduled steam ferry service in 1814, with the financial backing of Hezekiah Beers Pierrepont, one of the area's major landowners.
The City of Brooklyn was formed in 1834 from the previously existing town/village area. In 1898 Brooklyn joined the City of Greater New York which was now comprised of 5 NYS counties.
PHOTO SUBMISSION SUGGESTIONS
To make this a challenge for us all, please try to submit photos (to this photo topic Meetup Album) of scenes that tell the viewer in some way that this is the the Brooklyn Heights neighborhood**.**
Many of the homes & structures in this area were built in the 1800's.
If in doubt, submit anyway. At all cost we'd rather you submit than not do so since fun & message telling is our photo purpose. But our objective is to come up with a photo album collective.
