BACKGROUND
Brooklyn Heights began to develop once Robert Fulton's New York and Brooklyn Steam Ferry Boat Company began regularly scheduled steam ferry service in 1814, with the financial backing of Hezekiah Beers Pierrepont, one of the area's major landowners.
The City of Brooklyn was formed in 1834 from the previously existing town/village area. In 1898 Brooklyn joined the City of Greater New York which was now comprised of 5 NYC boroughs and each of these became NYS counties as well.

PHOTO SUBMISSION SUGGESTIONS
To make this a challenge for us all, please try to submit photos (to this photo topic Meetup Album) of scenes that tell the viewer in some way that this is the the Brooklyn Heights neighborhood**.**
Many of the homes & structures in this area were built in the 1800's.
If in doubt, submit anyway. At all cost we'd rather you submit than not do so since fun & message telling is our photo purpose. But our objective is to come up with a photo album collective.
Please limit photo submissions on the Meetup Photo site to 8 images.

Don't forget your charged batteries and empty memory cards.

Please be on time! The NYC Subway System sometimes can be a hellscape of unimaginable delays and changes that can wreak havoc on your mind, body, schedule, and soul.
Plan your trip with some extra time!
