The Mermaid Parade, a no-host Meetup Event

Join fellow photographers for an afternoon photographing one of New York City’s most colorful and imaginative traditions—the annual Mermaid Parade!
Expect elaborate costumes, creative characters, performers, classic cars, spectators, and plenty of lively street-photography opportunities. Participants are free to photograph independently, stay with other members, or move to different points along the parade route.
Please arrive around 12:45 PM so members have time to find one another, introduce themselves, and choose shooting locations before the parade begins.

• Details, colors, textures, and creative compositions

Bring any camera you enjoy using. A standard zoom, short telephoto, or small prime lens should work well.
Important: This is a freeform, no-host Meetup. No organizer or designated leader is guaranteed to attend. Members should introduce themselves in the event comments and coordinate with one another. The parade may be crowded, so the group could become separated.
