Short film evening
Details
O Gabinete de Madame Thao presents Contranarciso, a short film evening on April 30th, from 7pm to 9pm, inspired by the poem by Paulo Leminski.
This screening invites audiences into a shared space of reflection and exchange, exploring the idea of community through questions of identity, otherness, and self-perception. Across different cinematic forms and sensibilities, the films open intimate and sometimes unexpected perspectives on how individuals relate to one another - within families, social groups, or imagined collectives.
From personal acts of creation and self-expression to stories shaped by secrecy, transformation, and interdependence, the programme highlights the fragile and evolving nature of belonging. It looks at how communities can both support and constrain us, how narratives are shaped by our environments, and how connections emerge in times of uncertainty, tension, or hope.
During the evening, you will have the opportunity to discover the work of emerging and established filmmakers and artists, and to meet them in an informal and welcoming setting.
