I can't believe there's been 8 of these movies, already (The Conjuring + Annabelle + The Nun: see the photo for the chronological timeline)
Much akin to other horror franchises, it is not necessary to see the rest of them in order to understand this one. The synopsis says it all:
"Paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren try to vanquish a demon from a family's home."
Needless to say, if you'd like my opinion, "The Conjuring 2" was the best of the series, and introduced Valak ("The Nun") into this cinematic universe.

The time is just a placeholder (it will be a late night movie), until the showtimes are released (usually the Tuesday or Wednesday before the weekend showings)
