August Paddle (Malibu)

Pack your picnics & paddles - we’re shaking up our usual format for a classic So Cal beach day in Malibu! Instead of the usual hour-long paddle route, we’ll post up on Surfrider beach from 7:30am - 11am. Join for the full sesh or drop in, and paddle, swim, surf, or snack at your leisure! We’ll grab a spot south side of the lifeguard flags / north of the pier, where paddling is allowed. ⚠️ PLEASE READ BELOW FOR IMPORTANT DETAILS UNIQUE TO THIS EVENT:

• ⏰ TIMING: Os & Ps will be there 7:30 - 11. Come and go as you please, but note parking will get tough around 7:45. HIGHLY RECOMMEND COMING ON THE EARLY SIDE!
• 🚗 PARKING: Navigate to the parking lot at Surfrider Beach (23200 Pacific Coast Hwy ). Early birds can snag free parking along PCH. There is also a $15 flat rate lot with 90 spaces - which will also fill up on a nice day.
• 🛶PADDLE: Stand-up paddleboards (SUPs) & kayaks are welcome - but please note the SURF ONLY zone and heed the lifeguard flags. Traditional SUPs & kayaks must enter the water to the south of the lifeguard flags and avoid the surf only zone.
• 🍉 PICNIC: BYO picnic and beach gear.
• ⚠️ SAFETY: Have a life jacket on board for safety & to avoid a ticket. All paddlers are responsible for their own safety.
• 💡 EXPERIENCE: Some experience is recommended as this is an open ocean paddle, but there are usually minimal waves getting out. You’re also welcome to swim or chill if it’s too rough for you.
• 🛟 RENTALS: We do NOT have rental info and there are no known rental spots at this location.
