About us
The "Obliqua" talking circle meets weekly (online) for deep-felt conversation.
Speak openly and feel at ease with people you can really trust and count on.
● Talk fearlessly about loss, uncertainty, and self-worth
● Always know what the others are feeling
● Conquer disillusionment ― tremendously strong and joyful
The well-tuned connections and deep friendships within talking circles are the result of hard work. We go up and down through the stages of each feeling, whether we’re discussing expectations, doubt, guilt, trust, or conflicts in relationships. Expect the group to be receptive to your reason and passion. We have comfortable dialogues about what matters most to us. Weekly meetings to quest after our unsoiled sentiments.
● Do you have wounds you suspect will never heal?
● What could truly give you strength right now?
● Are you making space for your true self?
Obliqua is a supportive space for helping you when you are stuck, in pain, or in a place of isolation.
Our group does not use set topics; we just come together to talk about whatever is on our minds. We explore unresolved emotions and delve into the raw, unpolished moments of life that reveal who we are. We confront our doubts and navigate the complexities of our inner worlds, examining the stories we tell ourselves while exploring the terrain of fear, strength, and the enduring quest for self-understanding.
There is room to speak about what we carry silently, are confused about, or what would make us feel that we really mattered. And at other times, we can cheer a member's accomplishments or honour their fortitude.
So: if you care to talk to others and explore what it means to live authentically, then meet with us for a talk. Join us for unvarnished conversation and exchanges of consolation. You can expect a comfortable, confidential, and judgement-free environment.

Talking circles can vary widely. Here's what defines ours:
● Dialogues: Open sharing with optional feedback and questions from others.
● No recurring focus on spirituality. No rituals, meditation, or breathing exercises.
● Shared leadership among members.

A Council of Highly Supportive People
·OnlineOnlineMeet with us in a supportive environment for unvarnished conversation. Feel welcome to have and disclose deep-rooted personal feelings.
In our talking circle, we cut through pretence and look at ourselves "in the mirror." We'll take a close look at everything in a safe atmosphere. Here, you’ll gain the perspectives of others and the wisdom of the group. This is a confidential place for real support: a place to examine issues in yourself, your relationships, your work, and so on.
WHO WE ARE
We're not a forum for public issues and advocacy. We are also not a replacement for mental health support. We are just normal people—of all ages and races, with various backgrounds and ambitions, and without any shared affiliation to a religion or school of thought.BEING CHALLENGED
We value authenticity in others and ourselves. If someone feels you are not being genuine, forthcoming, or realistic, then you might get feedback about that (if you are open to it). It'll be a measured and caring challenge to look at things differently, or be accountable.BEING IN A GROUP
Another element that you may come to appreciate is learning how to be part of a group. How to make decisions together and notice what role you have, or how others see you. Collisions will occur, but that is okay; let's talk about them. Let's really figure things out. Our group is a safe space where we can learn to sit in conflict and not lose our voices.Come meet our members and witness the inestimable connection we share. You can expect us to be interested in your story and to respond with curiosity; your willingness to speak will be valued. Tell us what's going on for you, what it's like to be in your situation, and what it's like to be you: a strong person, possibly in a tough spot.
Come and speak the unspoken. Free yourself of private burdens by sharing them. Be you, as you really are.

― The structure of the meeting ―
At the beginning of the evening, one of the more experienced members is selected as the host. They will determine the flow of the meeting and will also make sure that others do not interrupt one another. The first part of the meeting is for check-ins. Every member can speak for a few minutes to disclose whatever is going on for them. At this stage, the other members only listen.
During the second part of the meeting, the host moderates various rounds of conversations. Typically, the personal subjects raised during the check-ins are looked at more closely, but new matters are welcome too. Before someone can speak, they need to indicate to the host that they want to jump in.
Any member is free to decline being the topic of discussion.
Obliqua is a confidential group. This is the only rule and it concerns both the contents of the meeting and the identity of the participant. You are requested to arrive on time, stay for the duration of the meeting, enable your camera, and find a room where no family members or roommates will be present.
Please review the "About" section, too.
