For the month of June we have selected “Brideshead Revisited” by Evelyn Waugh

Our book selection this month was nominated by Tim. Amazon says it is “a novel that immerses us in the glittering and seductive world of English aristocracy in the waning days of the empire.” Grab a cup of tea and put your pinkie in the air while reading.

In May we succeeded with our first split meetup using two discussion tables. Though some of us missed hearing the thoughts of every person we love, I noticed that new members had a greater chance to engage, everyone could say more, and we didn’t struggle to hear as much. With a little experimentation, I’m sure we will get this right. Real and thoughtful connection has kept me coming back to OC Gay Men’s Bookclub for 5 or 6 years. This small change will hopefully allow new and recently joined members to get the attention they deserve. Come! Spark conversations, meet friends, and Gay it up!

We meet at Urth Cafe, in the alley by the Starbucks. There is free parking on adjacent streets surrounding the Orange Circle. There is also a Parking Structure on Maple and Lemon. Every month, some group members come early to grab a brew at Provisions Cafe (143 N Glassell St.)
