We will be demonstrating again at the intersection of SR200 and 27th Avenue in Ocala, participating with other groups, including Marion for Peace, Florida Peace and Justice Alliance, and Ocala for Justice in Palestine. This will be our 22nd demonstration – adults and children from around Central Florida in a peaceful protest.
We are outraged at Israel’s counter-productive and senseless genocide of Palestinian people, which has to date killed more than 42,000 individuals–in the majority innocent women and children. We are also seeking an immediate return of ~90 Israeli and ~9,500 Palestinian hostages. Street demonstrations have been held each Saturday for the past seven months and will be ongoing every Saturday until a permanent ceasefire is enacted.
As the Middle East remains a powderkeg, our groups represent a growing number of Ocala residents who are urgently seeking a peaceful resolution to the Israel-Gaza War, which has already claimed tens of thousands of innocent lives, and with hundreds more perishing each week.
Bring make a sign with very large letters of a short slogan (recommended to attach a wooden handle so it can be held high) or we will have extras. We will have a cooler with cold drinks. Please arrive a few minutes early so we can start in unison. Some will arrive later and stay later; please demonstrate as long as you can!
