Linux Preview! Join us as we welcome Craig Chapman from Embarcadero!

Details

This month we are honored to be visited by Craig Chapman of Embarcadero. He is planning to demonstrate sample applications covering, the Windows 7 application icon previews & jump lists, the Windows 10 calendar control, the parallel programming library, and an introduction to mobile deployment (with an Android app). These are just some of the features which cover the range of Embarcadero versions. If there is something specific that you would like to see covered, leave a comment before the meeting and perhaps Craig will add it to his agenda.

Craig has been given permission to preview the Linux compiler to us! This will be one of the first times in So Cal that you are going to be able to see this! Can't wait!

About the presenter, Craig Chapman:
" I'm originally from the UK. I began using Turbo Pascal and Delphi as a hobby and released an online freeware application right before leaving college in 1998, this was well received by almost 200,000 users.
I then began writing Delphi applications commercially in 2000, and have specialized my career around Delphi ever since. Consequently, while I'm no spring chicken, I'm often considered young for someone that remembers Delphi 1!

In 2012, my employer asked me to head up a green-field development project out of Dallas Texas which was to take between 6 & 12 months, however during this time I met and married my wife (from Dallas) and did not wish to return to the UK. At that time, Embarcadero were hiring in Austin Texas, and so I took a position with them consulting for the customer service team. "
