Ocean County 40+ Let’s Get Out and Have Some Fun Meetup

This group is open to all 40+ who would like to get out, meet new people and have fun. Events will include a variety of social and recreational activities. Suggestions are welcome. Beginning 9/1/2024 we will be collecting a $5 annual membership fee. Cash payment only. The purpose of the group is to help you make new friends or meet potential partners while enjoying various social or recreational activities. These activities will make it so that you don’t have to go it alone. Organizers will inform you of upcoming events, establish a meeting place, provide you with any other information related to the event, and introduce you to other group members.

If you RSVP to an event and then can’t attend, please edit your RSVP as soon as possible, so that other group members can take your spot, should there be a waitlist or should there be table reservations at a venue. Please be aware that if you continually no-show for events or sign up and never attend group events within a year’s time, I may remove you as a group member. Also be aware that the Meetup developers are deleting accounts for inactive members. If your circumstances change in the future and you will be able to attend some group events, you are more than welcome to rejoin.

Some events are at venues that do not split checks so please bring cash in those cases. Please do not bring personal checks.

Just a suggestion, from personal experience, if you do develop a friendship or date someone from the group and it doesn’t work out for whatever reason, please know that you may or may not see the other person at future events. It’s always a good idea to discuss that in advance so that if that should happen, you have an agreeable plan in place on how you will proceed forward. Please also know that people may or may not be single or looking for a relationship. Please be respectful and considerate. I also want you to know that we want everyone who attends this group to feel welcomed, comfortable and safe.

Please drink responsibly, and if you are drinking, please have a plan in place in case you are unable to drive home.

If there ever should be an event where somebody acts inappropriately in any way, you will be banned from the group and a report will be made to Meetup.com. Please let the event organizer know if you need some assistance or make us aware of an issue ASAP. We also encourage members to react assertively, not aggressively, and to set clear limits and boundaries if you are addressing an issue on your own. Please also be aware these are often public events so this is good practice overall. I do want you to know that my experience as a Meetup member and organizer has overall been positive.
