Lockpicking class at Gunwhale Ales in Costa Mesa (Locksport) July 23 6 PM

We will be introducing you to lock picking with focus on pin tumbler locks and the Locksport community - join us at Gunwhale Ales in Costa Mesa from 6-8PM in the barrel room. This is a ticketed event - $25 - no RSVP required, but if you do, you'll get priority admission.

I have known about lock picking for a long time (see: @LockpickingLawyer) and recently got my own lock picking kit. I was very satisfied with the results - I opened every padlock in the house the day I got my tools. Then I learned about Locksport. Did you know there's karate belts? The internet likes to talk smack about tools sometimes, so I sought out tools from multiple manufacturers. Next thing you know, I'm going to have pints with the boys and taught them all to pick a training lock and a couple master locks. The stoke is real! They were all floored with how easy it was to do!

In the introductory class, I go over the ground rules, share resources, lay out techniques, and get into the hands on. We'll start with white belt level training locks and some common Master Locks you've seen before. We'll ease into the harder locks, and if anybody is struggling I can work with you one on one. So far, EVERYONE has been able to open a lock.
