Join Octopus Inc First Christian Church and The Thornkin Coven for a magical evening celebrating the winter solstice while supporting a vital cause. Begin with the Blue Christmas / Longest Night Ceremonies (5:00–6:30 PM), a reflective and supportive interfaith ritual honoring the Sun and the Son. A time of reflection and chosen community in the face of darkness. Then stay for the Yule Ball (7:00 PM–Midnight), featuring music, dance, art, and community connection as well as a chance to change the lives of two young members of our collective, Sphynx and South.
Admission & Donations:

  • $10 at the door
  • Kids and anyone under 18 attend free
  • No one turned away for lack of funds
  • Donations collected throughout the evening to support Sphinx and South, two marginalized queer youth aging out of the system, who need stability, security, and a chosen family

What to Expect:

  • Ritual & Blessings: Guided ceremonies to honor the season and reflect on community
  • Music & Caroling: DJ sets, live instruments, Christian, pagan, and interfaith music for dancing and celebration
  • Gift Tree: Take a gift or leave one, spreading generosity and joy
  • Silent Auction: Unique items available to bid on, with proceeds supporting Sphinx and South
  • Feast & Social Gathering: Light snacks, drinks (cocoa and cider, and time to connect in a welcoming space
  • Inclusive & Accessible: Quiet spaces and sensory-friendly accommodations available
  • And many more suprises for the season

Mission:
This is Octopus Inc’s first event, created to foster connection, joy, and community while supporting marginalized queer youth in need. Celebrate the season, give back, and be part of a night of ritual, music, and generosity.
