Tom's a regular guy, a utilities lineman, who works regular hours and socializes with his friends and neighbors in his free time. At a party, his sister-in-law hypnotizes him, and he goes into a deep trance. Before waking him, she suggests that he keep his mind open. That night he sees flashes of violence and the ghost of a young woman. Confused and agitated, he can’t escape continuing visions, and soon he finds himself compulsively investigating their source. As he makes progress, it becomes apparent that he’s placing himself and his family in danger. This excellent tale of the supernatural was largely overlooked upon its release as the celebrated The Sixth Sense arrived in theatres at the same time; any fans of movies made to be watched in the dark should not miss it now.
