The black plague approaches a medieval English village, and the villagers aren’t sure what to do about it. One young man has a vision and proposes a holy quest. If it’s successfully completed, the plague should bypass the village, although not without cost. Four intrepid volunteers join him on the quest, but they have no understanding of what’s about to be required of them, nor are they likely to understand afterward what they have done.
