This movie combines elements of In Bruges (2008) and Violet & Daisy (2011) with real religious fervor. A couple of young and not-too-bright Yorkshire lads were taken in by a priest when they were orphaned years before the movie begins. Their education has been limited to lessons of obedience, prayer, and killing. Now working as the church’s assassins, they believe they’re instruments of God’s will as they target a prominent atheist philosopher. Of course, the assignment does not go as planned. Although not as weirdly sardonic as the movies mentioned above, this feature has plenty of Oddball elements, including a chorus that appears alongside the characters (although unnoticed by them) and sings traditional British folk tunes as a jaunty backdrop for the grim proceedings.
