Set in Israel among Orthodox Jews, the story begins with an engaged woman whose fiancé bails out only a month before the wedding. Rather than cancel the ceremony, she has faith that God will provide a groom. Her steadfast faith in the Almighty to solve her problem is the focus of the story, but as the proverb says, He helps those who help themselves, so the wannabe-bride consults with matchmakers and takes other rational steps to ensure that there will be two people at the altar on the appointed day. The tale goes in odd directions indeed, but don't expect to laugh much along the way – this is a serious endeavor for a 30+ single woman in this community.
