· American Hero · by Nick Love ☼ online event
Details
In early scenes the title character is anything but a hero. Engaging in drugs and petty crime, he’s divorced and losing visitation rights to his young son. Sentenced to community service for a recent conviction, he spends a little time cleaning graffiti from a Katrina-ravaged section of New Orleans and a lot of time drinking, smoking and snorting all sorts of substances, and hanging out with his pals who do the same. The strange thing is that he has a peculiar supernatural power, one that he could use to do some good for his city and for the world. Will he ever grow up and realize his potential? The language and action in this production are relentlessly vulgar and raunchy; this is appropriate to the story and the setting, but viewer (and listener) discretion is advised. For those who don’t mind, it’s a fresh and intriguing look at superpowers.
