After defeating the British at Isandlhwana in South Africa (shown in last week’s movie, Zulu Dawn), a Zulu force numbering nearly 4,000 warriors advances on a British hospital and supply dump guarded by 150 Welsh infantrymen. With a few liberties taken for dramatic effect, the filmmakers depict the ensuing battle fairly accurately. One of their technical advisers was a Zulu princess and tribal historian who drew the battle plan for the director, who shot the action exactly as she described it.
