Gravescones: Field trip to Greenwood Cemetery
Details
This event will be an active one, so some attendees will have homework!
For this event, we'll visit Greenwood Cemetery, the oldest cemetery in Orlando.
To start out, we'll have a little picnic with refreshments and discuss our disposition preferences. Then we'll embark on a tour led by YOU!
That's right, I'm looking for 10-15 attendees to pick a grave to visit, and we'll learn about the person at rest. You can read their Find a Grave profile or tell us about them if you know them.
A few things to note for this event:
- Attendees who want to submit a grave for our tour need to send me the name so I can plot out our tour path. See question with this event.
- Because it's on the weekend, restrooms are unfortunately not available at the cemetery. Please keep that in mind.
- Even in the morning, it might be toasty! Dress comfortably and bring plenty of water.
- Optional: I invite attendees to bring flowers. We can all leave a flower at each resting place we visit.
- Optional: Feel free to bring a little snack for yourself or to share with others.
ATTENDEE HOMEWORK -- TIPS:
If you don't know someone but want to submit a person, you can use Find a Grave to choose a person, or pick someone from the official Greenwood Cemetery walking tour.
