Details

This is 4th section of GNW. When we last tried it, we had to do a shorter walk due to extreme heat - so hopefully conditions are more favourable. If not, we already know some shorter ways - so we can still get a walk in.

You will need 2-3 litres of water and (optionally) Gatorade/Powerade/Hyrdalyte. Hiking/ trail running shoes (or boots) are recommended, as are hiking poles. Bring a hat and snacks as well.

Meet: On the rail overpass at Hornsby Station at 8:00am.

Distance, Time, Effort: 12.15 km distance, About 3.5hrs (based on our usual pace), Moderate/High effort.

Public transport example: Train from Central Platform 8 at 07:15am gets in 07:56am. This is a good option as it is express.

Driving: You can park at Hornsby or Mount Colah. Best train from Mount Colah to the start leaves Platform 1 at 7:50am and gets in to Hornsby at 7:57am.
