For those interested in an early start, I will be camping the evening prior along the Logandale Loop. My itinerary is as follows:
· Departure from Orange County: 1:00 PM
· Estimated arrival at campsite: approximately 7:00 PM
· Camping location: Logandale Loop

🔥 Friday Morning – Into the Heart of Gold Butte

• Break camp (for Thursday Night Campers)
• Complete Logandale Loop
• Meet at rally point by 12:30 PM

🔥 Friday Afternoon – Into the Heart of Gold Butte (~54 Miles)

• Enter Gold Butte National Monument
• Stop at Devil’s Nostril
• Scenic desert exploration through rocky terrain & sandy washes
• Arrive at Little Finland (otherworldly rock formations)

🏜️ Saturday – Full Send to Whitmore Point (~100 Miles)
This is the big day—long miles, diverse terrain, and unforgettable stops.
Route Stops:

• 7 Keyhole Slot Tunnel
• Devil’s Throat Sinkhole
• Trumbull Schoolhouse
• Final push to Whitmore Point

What to Expect:

• ~100 miles of trail
• Mix of sandy washes, rocky sections, and scenic overlooks
• Remote, rugged, and absolutely worth it

🏕️ Saturday Night Camp: Whitmore Point

• Cliffside views overlooking the Colorado River
• One of the most epic campsites in the region

🍲 Saturday Night Potluck Dinner:

• Bring a dish to share
• Highly recommended:
• Camp tables
• Extra utensils / plates
• Serving gear
