AWS MeetUp #19

Details
Hello!
On March 12, we invite you to the AWS User Group Lviv online meetup. Register and invite your friends :)
- The first speaker is Nazarii Banakh, DevOps Engineer at TechMagic
Nazarii is a DevOps engineer with 4 years of experience in cloud infrastructure and automation, currently working at TechMagic with a focus on AWS services. With a strong foundation in software development, having spent 6 years as a C/C++ and Python developer, he brings this expertise to DevOps practices. His background includes working on both startup and enterprise projects, allowing him to navigate diverse technical challenges and be efficient in cloud-based solutions.
Topic: “ AWS CodeCatalyst”
Language - Ukrainian
We will cover the main features of CodeCatalyst as an AWS service for development and discuss why it might be useful for your project and team. We will go through an interactive live demo of creating a simple project as well as highlighting its tools and possibilities.
- The second speaker is Michal Salanci, Lead Architect in Cloud Professional Services I AWS Community Builder
Michal’s IT journey started in 2009 as a network engineer, where he spent countless hours mastering subnetting and VLAN mysteries—eventually reaching the rank of Senior Network Engineer (just a step away from "Network Jedi"). Seeking new challenges, he transitioned to the cloud, diving into AWS as a DevOps Engineer in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE). His career then took off, leading him to the role of Lead Architect in Professional Services—where his job remains a mystery to many, apart from drinking a lot of coffee.
In 2023, Michal became an AWS Community Builder in the Containers category and founded AWS User Group Kosice—finally gaining a few AWS-loving friends. Passionate about knowledge-sharing, he regularly speaks at AWS meetups and Community Days.
Now, he’s joining AWS Lviv Meetup to share his expertise, insights, and, most likely, a few jokes. If you enjoy discussions about AWS, DevOps, or the art of drinking coffee while debugging infrastructure, you won’t want to miss his talk!
In 2024, Michal earned the AWS Golden Jacket by passing all active AWS certifications—so, if nothing else, at least he has proof that he read the docs.
Topic: “Goodbye server: Going serverless with AWS”
Language - English
Refactoring to serverless doesn’t have to mean writing thousands of lines of code or relying solely on heavy-duty Lambda functions. You can leverage the resources AWS already offers. This is a real project example of transforming a robust yet upgrade-unfriendly application running on EC2 and S3 into a modern, serverless, containerized, CI/CD-automated, and ops-ready solution using AWS Network Firewall, ECS/Fargate, and instance store.
The meetup is free as always, but registration is required
After completing the registration form above, you can find the link to join the event. Also, we will send you a reminder the day before the event.
See you!
