For this event we are heading to the European Southern Observatory Supernova Planetarium & Visitor Centre in Garching. It is located next to the control station of several huge telescopes in Chile, amongst them the one in the Atacama desert featured in the Bond Film "Quantum of Solace". Currently they are constructing the "ELT" (Extremely Large Telescope) with a 39m main mirror which will make it the largest telescope in the world for visible and infrared light. The buildings in Garching are top notch architecture and feature a big exhibition area and a modern planetarium.
Entry to the exhibition is free of charge, but planetarium shows cost 6.50€ and tend to sell out weeks in advance so make sure to purchase your ticket online right away HERE. Also remember to join the WHATSAPP GROUP for this event. If you want to participate in the dinner please text us there a week before so we can reserve the right amount of seats at the restaurant.
