Outdoor Climbing - Rock Canyon (The Red Slab)
Details
All levels welcome! Let's head up Rock Canyon to climb a mix of sport and Trad. More specifically the Red Slab. For those who are not yet leading, I will set up top ropes. I have a couple of ropes, but if others have a rope, that would be helpful. Be prepared for a nice 10-15 minute walk to the Red Slab wall and some uphill scrambling to get to the base of the wall. Bring water, snacks, comfortable hiking shoes, etc. DIRECTIONS/HOW TO GET THERE:
Meet in the Parking lot for Rock Canyon Trailhead.
WHAT TO BRING: - helmet - harness - belay device - water - snacks and lunch - medicines you may need - layers of clothes appropriate for the weather - approach shoes Optional (If you have experience leading) - rope - anchor materials with locking carabiners - PAS - personal anchor system - quick draws - trad rack RULES OF THE GAME: This is an outdoor event which carries more risk. We have an accident-free record, but can make no guarantees (since rocks can fall, etc.). The biggest detriment to safety is behavior, so please be aware of your actions and those of the people around you.
