Details

Here's the opportunity to have an adventure on Charles Mill Lake in Mansfield, OH area near intersection of Route 71 and Route 30. With 1350 acres of water and 30+ miles of shoreline, there's plenty to explore!!

Charles Mill Lake in north-central Ohio was created in 1935–36 by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for flood control. It was named after J. Charles, who operated a sawmill there in the 1800s.
The area saw violent conflict during the War of 1812, including attacks on settlers. Today, the lake spans 1,350 acres with 34 miles of shoreline and is used for boating, fishing, and camping, managed by the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District.

We will launch at 9:30 AM, so be arrive early to setup. PFD's must be worn at all times & kayak lengths of 14 foot plus only ... to ensure group speed & congruency. Pace of 3.50/hour approx. Please bring appropriate water, snack and sunscreen.

Afterwards, we might visit the Village Point Parlor nearby for some delicious pizza and ice cream! 4 Main St, Hayesville, OH 44838
