Here's the opportunity to have an adventure on Atwood Lake in the Muskingum Watershed . It's going to be a beautiful fall day, so let's get outside and explore! (Our goal is approx 10-12 miles ...)
Atwood Lake, Ohio is a 1,540-acre reservoir with 28 miles of shoreline, created in 1936 by damming Indian Fork for flood control and recreation. The original village of Atwood was flooded, and today the lake offers boating, fishing, camping, and parks. A former resort and golf course nearby are now partially managed by the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District.
We will launch at 1:00 PM, so be arrive early to setup. PFD's must be worn at all times & kayak lengths of 14 foot plus only ... to ensure group speed & congruency. Pace of 3.50/hour approx. Please bring appropriate water, snack and sunscreen.
Afterwards, we will plan to visit Lockport Brewery in Bolivar, OH near the Route 77 and Route 212 interchange.
