Explore the Upper Huron River

Update: Please note the updated meeting and takeout location due to the closure of the launch ramp at Coupling Metropark.

Huron River Valley Resort Campground charges a $10 per-car access/parking fee. I am confirming the details, but please bring some cash/change in case we need to share the cost.

To help with the car shuttle, please bring equipment that allows you to carry at least one additional kayak, if possible.

Embark on an adventure to explore the scenic upper Huron River with us!

Meeting Point:

Time: 8:30 AM
Distance: About 20~22 miles
Location: Huron River Valley - Sandusky Resort, Marina And Campground (9019 River Rd, Huron, OH 44839)

We'll meet at The Huron River Valley Campground to set up a shuttle, then drive to our launch point at Clark Park in Monroeville (3000 US-20, Monroeville, OH 44847).

Important Note: A boat suitable for river navigation is required (14 feet or shorter).

Pack a lunch and plenty of water.

Please note that I’m just a co-participant in this event and not a guide or expert. I’ve been kayaking regularly since 2021, but I have no special training in areas such as organization, medical, navigation, or rescue. This is a weather-dependent meet-up, and participants assume 100% risk for attending.

If you sign up and cannot come, please let me know. Do not ghost. You are officially on the trip if you RSVP on Meetup and meet me at the parking lot. Otherwise, you should plan your own activity until you make physical contact with me and I recognize you as a co-participant.
