Session Abstract

Data integration can be a daunting challenge, but SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) offers the tools to tackle even the most complex workflows. In this session, we’ll explore the architecture of SSIS, starting with the essentials of Control Flow and Data Flow, and the role of the SSISDB catalog in managing deployments. Beyond theory, we’ll dive into practical applications, from connectivity options and error handling to automation with SQL Server Agent.

The highlight of the session is a real showcasing of how key transformations like Conditional Split, Lookup, Merge Join, and Slowly Changing Dimensions come together in a cohesive process. You’ll see how SSIS can streamline data transformations and solve integration challenges while remaining scalable and efficient. By the end, you’ll have both the big-picture understanding and practical insights to bring SSIS solutions to life.

*Please note, that we will be using Microsoft Teams for the online portion of this meeting. You may want to join a few minutes early to ensure you do not have any issues. If you are attending in person, there are large TVs at the office, and you do not need to bring a laptop or use Teams.
