Tahoe Lake Rim Trail, July 22-August 9

PLEASE NOTE!!! Meetup will not allow events more than 14 days in length. The end date is August 9 not August 4!!!

The Tahoe Rim Trail is a 170 mile loop around, yes you guessed it, Lake Tahoe! I have not hiked this trail, but research shows it is mostly above 10,000 feet, and that there are some water issues on the east side in Nevada requiring either 15-18 mile days or carrying additional water as well as 6-7 days food. A bear can is mandatory. I am assuming 10 mile days with the 15 mile days allowing for a zero day or two.

Flights San Antonio to Reno are currently $410 round trip, 7/22-8/9. Transportation from the Reno airport and return can be pricey as well, perhaps $200…

All participants, including myself, will need to sign a liability waiver.

A shakedown hike of ten miles, and equipment check will be necessary as well.
