On a frosty Christmas morning in 2011 I went on my very first MeetUp hike with The Tucson Hiking Meetup Group.
The hike that day was "Douglas Springs Trail to Bridal Wreath Falls" led by none other than the legendary Bill Carter (https://tinyurl.com/tjck73s)
Bill mentored me as a fledgling hike leader and now 8 years later it is my turn.
Thanks, Bill!

The Hike:
We will follow the Douglas Springs trail into low desert and then start to climb as we reach the Rincon foot hills. As we make the initial climb we will get commanding views of the Tucson and Catalina ranges.

As we continue to climb we will leave the cholla and Saguaro behind and now will be hiking in open grassy areas dotted with prickly pear cactus and mesquite.

When we intersect the Bridal Wreath Falls trail it will be about .33 miles to the falls where we will have snacks and break before heading back down to the trail head.

Trail head: Take Speedway Blvd Eastbound toward the Rincon mountain range. Speedway dead-ends at the trail head. There is a small parking lot to the right at the end of the road. If it is full, it is OK to park along the road.

RSVP etiquette:
• Sign up only if you really intend to come
• If you need to cancel, do so BEFORE the deadline so someone can get your spot
• If you change your mind take yourself off the Going or Wait list
• Please don't be a no-show

Be sure to bring adequate water, food, trekking poles, etc.
As always - Hike at Your Own Risk
