*** MEET at the Trail Head Sign for the BOWEN TRAIL
The Hike:
This trail starts at the Starr Pass Resort & Spa Bowen trail head.
We will take this gently rolling trail about .75 mile where we will intersect the Yetman Trail. Here we will turn left (west) and in about .75 miles we will be at the Old Stone Ruin: The Bowen House.
From here we will climb steadily up the Yetman Trail to the Bowen saddle where the Yetman, Warneke (unofficial) and Neiman Trails (unofficial) intersect.
From here we hike along the north slope and edge of lower Second Ridge and then hike up a series of switch backs to the 3300' summit of Second Ridge.
At the summit we will take in the view and have snacks before returning to the intersections of Yetman, Second Ridge and Neiman Trails.
From there we will take the Neiman trail in a north easterly direction along the slope of Second Ridge then descend to an arroyo trail where we will then intersect the Bowen trail and then back to the trailhead.
RSVP etiquette:
• Sign up only if you really intend to come
• If you need to cancel, do so BEFORE the deadline so someone can get your spot
• If you change your mind take yourself off the Going or Wait list
• Please don't be a no-show
Be sure to bring adequate water, food, trekking poles, etc.
