Details

See below Change of venue and time because of Cody fire.

As of Thursday a.m (or wed night) MEADOW LOOP IS NOW OPEN

Let's take a poll at the McDonald's carpool parking lot, which trail most folks want. Marshal Gulch - a bit more elevation and a little longer (1.5 hours rather than 1 hour Meadow Loop)
- same stunning views on both -
they are both at about 8500 to 9000 ft. cool. Both have picnic areas.

ENTRANCE:
Note: Will need your National Park pass, or Senior National Park pass , or $8 day fee.
Cash or check.
If you're buying a day pass best to get online ahead of time.

Bring a camp chair: In case more folks sign up, and we can't fit at the table, I have 2 or 3 I will bring.

Note – the end is approximate , could be 2pm or later – we do not know.
Let's take leisurely time, rather than eat and run. Meaning: Do not make afternoon plans for yourself unless you drive yourself.

Please be flexible because of the fire and possibly parking.

EVENT DETAILS of both trails:

Here is alltrails description of Marshal Gulch.
https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/arizona/marshall-gulch-trail-3
2.6 miles out and back (total 2.6 miles)
534 ft elevation gain
1h. 18 mins -- says Alltrails.
Let’s call it 1.5 hours for pictures and scenery stops.

NOTE for hiking level
the first leg is ALL uphill. Moderate level. 1.3 miles up, then back down.
I will be going slow up, because I go slow uphill. Hence the Adv Beginner level. it's short up, but inclined.

We stay together (last person in line of sight) for safety and socializing.

Downhill will be faster and easy, unless you have an ankle or knee issue – For these folks, down is harder than up.

Here is alltrails for MEADOW LOOP #5 (this one only takes an hour to hike)
