Romero Pools (Moderate)
Details
Carpooling info: e are meeting at the Chase bank next to the park for carpooling into the park. Carpooling departure time is 6:45am. We will all join back up at the parking area at the end of the main road in Catalina State Park at 7am.
TURTLE ALERT! This is going to be a slow paced hike.
This is not the beginner hike. It gets steep, rocky and is exposed to the sun. But at the end we get to have lunch and even swim at the pools which should have lots of water.
This is an out in back hike. Round-trip it is about 5.5 miles with around 1400 ft elevation gain.
Please bring at least 2L of water for this hike. It is recommended to use hiking poles, wear a hat and bring a snack/lunch for when we reach the pools. Please wear appropriate hiking footwear, you will regret it if you wear sneakers.
There is a $10 entrance fee to Catalina State Park. If you have a state park path please bring it!
Dogs, firearms and tobacco/vape products are not allowed on the hike.
