Tingalpa Creek Paddle

Details

This paddle will be part of WAZZA Wheezes round Woolies.

10 kms

After launching we will paddle under the Cleveland railway line and the Rickertt Road bridge but there are surprisingly few signs of development. Apart from the brief distraction of a boatyard on the right, it’s all shady trees, birds, and hopefully a few koalas.

The Tingalpa Creek Reserve features a dedicated canoe ramp and wooden fishing platform that can be seen easily from the water. There are also picnic tables, a BBQ, and several walking tracks. This area is accessible via Chadwell Street in Capalaba West so it’s a great place to meet up with family or other support crew. The ramp is also a good alternative start point for anyone wanting to do a shorter trip.

The plan is to paddle upstream to “the rocks”,which form a narrow platform that stretches across the creek, just before you reach the Old Cleveland Road bridge.
