Topic: The Brain Benefits of Learning a New Language
Host: Chelsea Contreras, MHAMD

The Mental Health Association of Maryland’s Vibrant Aging: Peers Program is pleased to offer “Mind Your Mind Mondays”, a weekly online opportunity for older Marylanders to learn about the brain and engage with others around mental wellness.

Each week, we share a short presentation on a topic related to aging and/or the brain then invite everyone into small groups for conversation around the topic. Breakout rooms remain open until 8pm for conversation, with participants welcome to leave whenever they need to. Participants are also welcome to listen to the presentation and leave before the breakout rooms, if they wish.

Topics are announced on a monthly basis at www.mdaging.org/events, via Meetup, and via email from the event host to registrants.

Feedback from our members:

  • "The presentations are always super."
  • "Every week I learn new stuff and use it all the time."
  • "Group discussions and the breakout rooms offer opportunity to share as a community."
  • "I look forward to this every Monday."

Please use the online event link to register via Zoom. You only need to register once. After you register, Zoom will send you a link that you can use to join us every week.

This program is made possible by funding from the Baltimore County Local Behavioral Health Authority.
