LGBT Age goes to Town
Details
A monthly social meetup in Glasgow for LGBT+ people aged 50 and over
LGBT Age Goes to Town is an opportunity to meet once a month at a regular time (when possible) in a different location around Glasgow which will give opportunity to explore what is onsite or nearby.
August meetup
This month, we are adventuring from our usual monthly city centre coffee meet-up with a wee trip Situated on the Tay estuary, Dundee is Scotland's sunniest city. If you live in Dundee and would like to join us we’d love to meet up with you in Dundee.
Lynda, Jean and James are your hosts for the day.
We plan to leave Buchanan Street Bus Station in Glasgow on the M9 bus operated by Parks of Hamilton at 10.40am. The journey takes 1hour 45 minutes which should see us arrive at Dundee Seagate Bus Station 12.25 (NOTE - other buses/routes can take 2h 20mins!) It’s worth spending £1 booking fee to book your ticket in advance as this is a busy route.
LGBT Age will pay for your cup of tea or coffee (only with receipt).
- You must book in advance: We need to know who is joining us at Glasgow Buchanan Street Bus Station to travel to Dundee and who we are expecting to meet up with us in Dundee. Please contact Jean at [jean@lgbthealth.org.uk](mailto:jean@lgbthealth.org.uk) or on 07516 553 274
- When Jean confirms your booking, please contact Jean’s mobile number to use on the day if for any reason you need to contact us e.g. you may need to cancel, you may have missed a bus and are running late etc
- We hope to have secured a wet weather arrangement with a local venue in case of a downpour. The event could be subject to cancellation at short notice if the weather forecast looks dreadful.
- There are no organised activities – folks can choose to spend their time in each other’s company as their mood and interests allow. We may want to go for a wander inside the V&A Museum.
- Bring sun lotion for protection – hopefully we will have good weather.
We expect to spend 3-4 hours in Dundee. Buses returning to Glasgow leave the bus station at the following times: 15:10, 16:10 and every hour.
