Details

The Olympia Chess club is open to all ages and skill levels. The only goal is to have fun, friendly games. It meets weekly on Thursday from 6PM to 8:30PM. There are no club dues, but $5 is collected to cover room costs from those 18 or over.

While players may agree to tournament rules if they wish, the only club rule is that if a piece is moved and the hand removed, the move stands.
A limited number of chess sets and a few chess clocks are available for club use. Bring a set if you have one. If your set is small, bulky or expensive, there are usually enough club sets to fill any gaps.

Parking can be a challenge. However, parking on street and public lots (green signs) are free after 5PM. There are several lots on State Street between Capital Blvd. and Columbia St usually have open spots.

You can bring your own food or drink, just please clean up before leaving. Assistance resetting the room after the club meeting is appreciated.
