Deer Ridge Trail to Deer Park Campground ONP, Sequim

Details
weather permitting
This is a difficult 10 mile out and back round-trip hike with 3,000 feet of elevation gain/loss. At 3 miles up and 2,000 feet of gain, we will take a break at the benches and enjoy a view of the mountains and Grey Wolf valley to our south. The next 2 miles takes us another 1,000 feet up to Deer Park campground. The grade gets a bit less steep from here on and the views just get better.
Don't want to go all the way? Feel free to turn around at the benches. Dogs are allowed to this point and a little further to the ONP boundary sign.
This is mountain lion country so it's best if we stay with a fellow hiker or two.
No restrooms at trailhead and the road is full of potholes for the last mile.
Vault toilet available at the Deer Park campground. Snow should be melted.
