La Push Second Beach

Details
1.5 mile out and back trail through coastal forest to La Push Second Beach. Although the trail is about 0.7 miles long, it is a mildly uphill grade (10 minutes) followed by a moderately steep down grade to the beach (15 minutes) with many wood steps. If taken slowly, it doable for many. Then we arrive at a heavenly beach with many rock formations off shore. Low tide will be at 11:31am. Those wanting to walk this beautiful beach will find a wide expansive beach with well-packed sand and a very gentle slope to the waves. On the southeast end of the beach is a great tidepool area with many sea stars, sea urchins, muscles, and hermit crabs. We might see eagles overhead.
No dogs allowed as this is in the Olympic National Park boundary.
Carpooling is encouraged. It's about a 1 hr 46 min drive from Sequim and there may be slow downs on the roads due to construction across the Peninsula this summer. The trailhead parking lot is small, but there is a large overflow parking area as well. There are vault toilets at the trailhead.
