Details

weather permitting

This is a 6 mile round-trip loop hike with 1,200 feet of elevation gain/loss.

We will start from the parking lot just inside the Salt Creek Campground (near the striped peak trailhead) and walk uphill for .3 miles. At the first junction, continue straight on the Strait Slope trail for 1.8 miles. We will hike past the Cove Trail and continue east through the forest. When we reach the logging road, the trail turns into Bunker Ridge trail for 3.1 miles. We will ascend to the Striped Peak trail. This short .3 mile loop at the peak will provide views of the Strait of Juan de Fuca and Canada, weather permitting. After a snack break, we will descend on the other side of the Bunker Ridge trail back towards the parking lot, which has some steep sections. Trekking poles are recommended for the descent.
Optional trip to the tide pools. High tide at 10:33am (3'10") and low tide at 2:24pm (3'5")

Leashed dogs are allowed.
No pass or entry fee.
