The first hike is a 7 mile out and back, round-trip hike on the Adventure Route of the Olympic Discovery Trail with 580 feet of elevation gain/loss. We will hike to the "Living Room" and enjoy the view of the mountains from the benches and picnic tables.
This hike takes us through beautiful forests on a very well maintained dirt trail that is shared with bikers and horses. Most of the elevation gain is in the first mile.

Leashed dogs are welcome.

Parking info -
The lot at the official start of the Adventure Route along the left side of the 112 is very small and usually crowded. Drive past this area on the 112 for another mile and turn left on Dan Kelly Rd.

We will park at the lot designated for horse trailer parking. Follow the brown signs for horse trailer parking for the ODT Adventure Route on Dan Kelly Rd. (Past Colville Trails Mountain Bike Park).

Optional-The 2nd event is 3 miles away and is a quick walk on the beach where the Elwha River meets the Strait of Juan de Fuca. When we leave Dan Kelly Rd, we drive north and cross over Hwy 112. The road changes names to Place Rd. Parking is at the end of Place Rd on the right. No parking pass needed.

High tide is at 1204pm at 7 feet. Low tide is 829pm at -.9 feet.
