weather permitting
This is a moderate 5 mile or so out and back hike with approximately 1,000 feet of elevation gain/loss. Bring micro-spikes and trekking poles for the large snow fields that are still present.

We will start the hike at the top parking lot where the Visitor's Center used to be. We will take the trail to our right called the High Ridge Trail. It intersects with the Sunrise Ridge Trail, which we will take first. It's a short uphill hike to a dead end viewpoint with sweeping views of the Olympics and north to Canada. We will descend and then turn left and take the Klahhane Ridge Trail down for about 1 to 1.5 miles, well before it drops steeply toward Switchback Trail.
We will take a short break to take in the views and have snacks, then head up the same way.
Hurricane Ridge Road is now open 24/7, barring any late snow storms or other events that may close the road.
Carpooling leaves from the Visitor's Center in Port Angeles at 930am.
National Park pass required for each vehicle and covers 4 people.
Please indicate if you can drive and/or would like a ride, or if you plan to meet us at the top.
No dogs.
Restrooms available at the carpool location and at the top of Hurricane Ridge.
