5th of July morning on Dungeness Beach, Sequim
Details
Usually this beach walk is scheduled for the 4th of July, but this year I have a volunteer commitment so we are doing it on the 5th of July.
This is a 6 mile round-trip, out and back walk along the beach at Dungeness Wildlife Refuge/Recreation Area. We will walk about a half mile through the forest on a paved trail and descend down to the beach. Instead of walking the Spit, we will turn west and walk along the beach for about 3 miles until we reach McDonald Creek. If the tide is low enough and the creek is
passable, we may walk further west for a bit. This is a flat beach with sand and rocks. Sorry, no dogs allowed.
Low tide is at 123pm at .37 feet.
weather permitting. Moderate to heavy rain and/or wind will cancel this event
Park at the very end of Voice of America Rd and meet at the trailhead entrance. No parking pass needed. Restroom available here. Bring your America the Beautiful National Park or Senior Lifetime National Park pass in case volunteers are checking. One pass allows 4 people.
