Day Trip to Coupeville, Whidby Island
Details
*weather permitting*
This is an all-day trip from Port Townsend to Coupeville on the 930am ferry, returning on the 415pm ferry. We will do an easy 5 to 6 mile hike at Ebey's Landing that will take us along the Bluff Trail with outstanding scenery overlooking the Strait of Juan de Fuca.
After this, we will drive about 15 minutes to the seaport town of Coupeville for lunch and to explore their charming shops, all dressed up for Halloween and the annual Haunting of Coupeville. This year's theme is the Season of the Witch.
We will then make our way back towards the ferry and explore Fort Casey with its military batteries and historic lighthouse.
We return on the 415pm ferry.
Logistics;
Peter and I have vehicle reservations for the 930am ferry. We need to be at the terminal 45 minutes prior to sailing. One vehicle and the driver costs $12.55 each way. Passengers are $5 each way, or $2.50 for seniors.
Peter can take 3 passengers and I can take 3 (or 4 if needed).
Because space is limited, please only RSVP if you are sure you can attend.
The sailing takes 30 minutes.
*You are welcome to drive yourself and get your own vehicle reservation, but the 415pm ferry from Coupeville is full right now. They do release more reservations closer to the date and they reserve some spots for non-reservation cars. If you miss the 415pm ferry, the next one sails at 6pm*
