What we’re about
Welcome to Omaha Community Death Ed, a meetup group dedicated to opening up honest, compassionate conversations about death, dying, grief, and the many rituals and practices that help us make meaning of our mortality.
This group offers a continuum of death education experiences—including Death Cafés, grief circles, workshops, seasonal rituals, storytelling gatherings, and practical end-of-life planning sessions. Each meetup is designed to meet people where they are: curious, grieving, seeking connection, or simply wanting a place where talking about death isn’t taboo.
Whether you are:
• Exploring your relationship to mortality,
• Processing personal or collective grief,
• Interested in home funerals, green burials, or alternative death practices,
• Wanting community through meaningful conversation,
• Or simply drawn to the mystery of endings—
you are welcome here.
Our events are non-hierarchical, accessible, and community-led, facilitated with care by a local death doula. No expertise is required; only openness and respect for the shared human experience of loss and change.
Join us as we reconnect with one of the most ancient human practices: gathering together to talk about what it means to live, to die, and to care for one another through it all.
