ODS Project | Polk County Housing Trust

For ODS March Meeting we are going to discuss our ongoing project with Polk Count Housing Trust Fund. PCHTF seeks to improve housing in the Des Moines area for the less fortunate. They partner with developers to help fund housing projects that will include low-income units. This creates a mixture of different income earners in the same area which has been shown to improve economic outcomes for low income earners.

With data in hand, and a preliminary project timeline, this meeting will focus on reviewing the data and getting the project started. Those of you have already committed to working on this project should plan on attending to help organize the teams. Those interested in participating but haven’t joined a team are strongly encouraged to attend. We will need volunteers, and this will be a great opportunity for you to get your hands dirty on a community data science project.
