June Potluck and Food Exchange!
Details
Lois S. is graciously hosting us at her church. We'll have our very own whole-foods, plant-based, no-oil FEAST. Bring dishes containing NO oil or animal products. Bring your own take-home containers, and we'll share our leftovers. Plates, eating utensils, and napkins provided. It might be helpful to bring your own serving utensils. We will provide coffee, tea, water, and maybe lemonade.
If you'd like to help set up, come a bit early.
If you're unfamiliar with our way of eating, check our discussion board. You'll find plenty of recipe websites that comply with the Forks Over Knives program. (I promise, it's easy!) A couple of websites with easy, compliant recipes: happyherbivore.com, drmcdougall.com/recipes. Can't cook? Think fruit salad, fruit plate, vegetable platter.
The church was kind enough to offer their space free of charge. We'll clean up after ourselves and wash the dishes after dinner. We'll have an optional free-will donation plate to give them as a thank-you.
(No need to RSVP if you can't make it.)
Omaha Forks Over Knives is a lively group celebrating the health benefits of a whole-foods, plant-based, no-oil diet. Each of us is in a different place with foods we do and do not consume; we're not The Food Police. We're here to support and learn from each other. (While we're at it, we entertain each other as well.) If you're new to this, we ask that, at a minimum, you confine your food choices in these meetups to plant-based options. Questions? Watch the documentary Forks Over Knives available to stream online.
