About us
# Omaha Traditional Connection: Unplugged
### Building the "Village" through Radical Hospitality & Deep Roots
We are moving past being "polite strangers." In a world of digital distraction and surface-level small talk, we are building a chosen family in the Omaha metro—a close-knit circle based on genuine neighborly love and "survival-level" communalism.
### Our Vision: The Neighbor Replaces the "System"
We draw inspiration from the 90s Yerevan "open-door" culture and traditional European social standards. We believe a neighbor isn’t just someone who lives next door; they are the person who holds your ladder, shares their last loaf of bread, and walks in with a cup of coffee without needing an invite. Don’t buy a house—buy a neighbor.
### What We Celebrate (The Traditions)
We don't just "hang out"; we honor the "Big Moments" with high-fidelity tradition:
- American Classics: Independence Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas—done the way they should be.
- German-Style Oktoberfest: Strict adherence to the correct attire, the right beer, and the authentic Wiesn vibe.
- Russian-Style New Year’s: A traditional celebration where an appreciation for Russian culture and language is the heart of the night.
- Armenian-Style Kinship: High-investment relationships where we are deeply involved in each other's well-being.
### Our Social Culture & Boundaries
To maintain a high-standard, face-to-face environment, we maintain clear boundaries:
- Presence Over Distraction: This group is not for video game enthusiasts or marijuana users. We value a grounded, sober-minded, and "unplugged" presence.
- Direct & Confident: We enjoy high-energy, direct social dynamics. We especially welcome women who are confident enough to lead and jump into any conversation without apology.
- Beyond "Polite": Respect is the baseline, but we want more. We want "good neighbors" who are proactively invested in the group.
### Growth & Membership
Not everyone was raised with these social habits, and that’s okay. If you are curious about this lifestyle but lack the social confidence, we offer coaching and workshops to help you build the tools to become a proactive, confident neighbor.
