What we’re about

Welcome to the Omaha Paddlers Meetup Group!

<br>

We are a loosely organized bunch of folks interested in paddling on waters in and around the Omaha, Nebraska area. If you like to paddle your kayak, standup paddleboard, canoe, or just about anything that is human powered and floats, then you are welcome to join.

<br>

The event organizers are just ordinary folks like you who want to help folks like you get together for fun on the water. If you'd like to host an event, please send a message to the administrator and we'll get you started.

<br>

We do have a few basic rules:

<br>

Real Paddle People Only - No bots. No scammers. No spammers. No stalkers. We may undertake some form or forms of verification during or after the signup process to ensure that you're an real person. You will be asked to send $1 via Venmo or PayPal. We’ll refund it right away. Or you can email or message an edited copy of your ID that shows your name and photo. We don’t care about any other personally identifiable information. Just crop, edit, or mask out everything but your name and photo. This is for the safety of our members and to ensure the overall quality of the content you receive via our Meetup group. We may review the membership roll from time to time and remove inactive or inappropriate accounts. The best way to stay a member is to participate in Omaha Paddler Meetup events. If you feel your request to join or your membership has been inappropriately denied or revoked, please reach out to an administrator.

<br>

Adults Only - Dogs are welcome but kids are NOT. We are here to make friends and have fun. We are adults only but we're not a singles group; everyone is welcome regardless of relationship status.

<br>

Events are BYOB (Bring Your Own Boat). Equipment and transportation is not provided by the group but can be coordinated between members.

<br>

All water related and outdoor activities have some risk. Always use your best judgement - never go along with the group if you think it's unsafe or beyond your abilities. Be sure to follow best safety practices and all applicable laws, rules, and regulations for the area you are paddling. This includes having the appropriate safety gear, such as an approved PFD, whistle, and safety lights (when applicable).

Happy Paddling!
